1. Nail Varnish

Nearly every household has at least one bottle of nail polish, but often, we only use it to paint our nails. Surprisingly, nail polish has many other uses that we probably never heard about, such as wart removal.

  • Wash your feet thoroughly and then dry them completely.
  • Use the attached brush to directly paint the nail varnish over the wart.
  • Some people combine the remedies to decrease the treatment time – first by applying OTC ointments on warts, then paint the nail polish over the wart.
  • Double check and be sure the wart is fully covered with the nail polish.
  • After giving the nail varnish time to dry, cover the treated area with adhesive tape or band-aid to protect the layer of varnish.
  • Allow the nail varnish to dry completely before you put any socks or shoes on.
  • Let the nail varnish remain on wart for every 3 to 5 days, reapply surface of the affected area as needed. Continue the process until the wart comes off.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

  • Dip cotton into the Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar, get the cotton half wet with the ACV.
  • Apply the cotton with the dry side up on top of the warts just before bed at night.

3. Duct Tape or Gaffer Tape

While the Archives of pediatrics and Adolescent medicine indicated the duct tape approach was effective to get rid of warts, USA Today report and New York Times report cited duct tape wart cure is overstated.

  • Wash and soak your wart area in warm water.
  • Use pumice stone or emery board to file away the top layer of the wart.
  • Dry your wart area completely.
  • Cut out a piece of the duct tape or gaffer tape as close as possible to the size of the wart.
  • Apply it carefully on top of the wart, press it on firmly.
  • Cover it with an adhesive bandage.
  • Combining the remedies – first by applying over the counter ointment on warts then cover the treated area with tape, to reduce the treatment time.
  • Leave it in place for 6 days. If it falls off, just put a new piece of tape back on.
  • At the end of 6 days, take off the tape and soak the area in warm water.
  • Gently scrape off the dead white skin left behind with emery board or a pumice stone.
  • Leave the tape off over night and then put a new piece back on the next morning for a further 6 days.
  • Repeat the steps so that the tape is always on for 6 days and off for one day each week.

Some have used own’s urine as home remedy for wart removal.
